1.0 WELCOME, ROLL CALL, AGENDA REVIEW
Simeon welcomed the group and reviewed the agenda. Incoming and outgoing Community Council members were introduced, and the outgoing Council members were thanked for their contributions over the past year.
2.0 APPROVAL OF 09 DECEMBER 2024 MINUTES
Voting on the 9 December 2024 meeting minutes was deferred and will take place via an eBallot distributed to the 2024 Community Council members.
3.0 COMMUNITY COUNCIL TRANSITION AND ONBOARDING
- Simeon introduced the Community Council (CoCo) structure and processes and described the use of Basecamp and Community Central to support CoCo activity, as well as the Slack channel.
- Simeon will add members to the Slack channel, and Maia will add members to Basecamp. Members should reach out if they have issues accessing either.
- CoCo members are welcome to share/add agenda items to any meeting.
The Community Council begins each year with a review of its objectives. Simeon invited the 2024 Council members to share their thoughts on objectives. Members suggested the following:
- Driving more corporate membership and building out the non-technical community
- Onboarding non-technical members with more efficiency
- Tracking of people’s onboarding experience to ensure they are not dropping off.
New Community Council members were asked to think about transition needs and prepare to discuss at future meetings.
4.0 COMMUNITY COUNCIL CHARTER REVIEW
- At the beginning of every year, charters are reviewed to ensure they are still current.
- The charters are all out for public review, from January 6 to January 24.
- Community Central has links to all charters, and members can add comments to the documents.
- After January 24th, each respective council will have an opportunity to review changes/comments and finalize the document.
- CoCo members are encouraged to review the other charters as well, including the newly updated Design Authority (DA) charter (not currently up for review), and the Change Control Board (CCB) and Product Council charters.
Action to CoCo: add comments by Jan 24th, then will review at next meeting.
5.0 AOB
Save the Date: the Mojaloop Open Source Community Meeting takes place April 14th-16th in Accra, Ghana, with an updated format and a focus on engaging developers and adopters. Activities will be discussed at upcoming CoCo meetings. Members are encouraged to join.
6.0 SUMMARY OF ACTION ITEMS
- VOTING ON MINUTES: Minutes of the 09 December meeting will be sent to 2024 Council Members for approval via eBallot
- COMMUNITY COUNCIL CHARTER REVIEW: CoCo members asked to review CoCo charter and add comments by January 24th.
