3.0 COMMUNITY COUNCIL OBJECTIVES FOR 2025

Simeon opened discussion about the Community Council’s 2025 objectives and reviewed the Council’s 2024 activities, noting that onboarding and approving processes were the primary objectives of the past year.

Community Council members and Mojaloop Foundation staff suggested the following areas of focus for 2025:

  • Ongoing engagement of the community, mentorship, and workstream involvement (both individuals and companies)

  • Broadening of the community, potentially to include:
    · open-source enthusiasts
    · regulatory/compliance
    · central banks and governments
    · policymakers

  • Adoption approval/implementation pipeline: understanding the decision-making framework of regulatory/policy groups, and identifying where non-technical issues (regulatory, compliance, etc.) might arise to address them in advance

  • Creating opportunities for non-technical groups to contribute so they see the benefits of shaping overall product and resulting ownership

  • Potential creation of a workstream for regular engagement of non-technical members

  • Consideration of limited collaboration with AfricaNenda on the above topics

  • Identifying and building strategy around the membership ‘life cycle’

  • Gathering feedback from the community on a consistent basis, and providing opportunities for CoCo members to engage with and learn directly from the community to assess whether strategic goals and projects align with community needs

  • Raising awareness & sensitizing the community to Mojaloop as a DPG, and expanding understanding of Mojaloop’s role as a DPG in communities, countries, regions, etc.

  • Receiving regular updates on the status of PoCs and accelerator programs outside of convenings

  • Long-term goal: giving more consideration to commercial environment for MLF implementations, laying the groundwork for Mojaloop Foundation to be self-sustaining and led by adopters in future, no longer dependent on philanthropic funding
